Our Instructors –

More Than Great Test Takers

When we hire instructors, we’re not only looking for candidates who scored high test scores themselves, although many of our tutors have (multiple times). We’re also seeking out individuals who have demonstrated a sincere interest in educating themselves and others throughout a variety of professions and unique life paths.

Not All Test Prep Is Created Equal

We believe test prep should be real education that prepares you not just for the test, but for the challenges you’ll face as you earn your graduate degree and advance your career

99% Percentile Instructors. The Best…or Nothing…

Highly qualified teachers are indispensable to test preparation. Other test prep firms will often make hiring decisions based on nothing more than an applicant’s own test scores. It is both possible and common for high-scoring students to make poor educators, and this is simply because test-taking and teaching test prep are different skills.

At English Bridge, we consider upper-percentile test scores to be necessary but not sufficient. High test scores are only a bare-minimum prerequisite for English Bridge’s instructor applicants. We also look at academic performance at the graduate levels, diversity of courses taken, business knowledge and teaching experience.

ALL our teachers are graduates of top universities OUTSIDE INDONESIA, but we also realize that the most selective institutions do not have a monopoly on talent. Our tutors have distinguished themselves in many different professions and can thus offer fresh perspectives on teaching the material.

They truly enjoy contributing to the success of others and are dedicated to their mission as educators. They also live active lives outside of work, with hobbies and interests that make them accessible to their students, further enhancing the teaching process.

They have all scored in the 99th percentile on standardised tests, and they are also recognized as experts in teaching. All of our tutors are vetted and highly trained. They will help you reach your highest score potential, and you will leave confident and prepared.

English Bridge is extremely selective when hiring its teaching staff. We not only look for individuals who have attained great test results, but also pay special attention that candidates have a passion for teaching and a track record inspiring others.

Rigorous Training

Our tutors are thoroughly vetted for qualifications and suitability for conducting classes.

We meticulously screen our instructors so that our clients don’t need to gamble by trusting questionable teachers.

Selected candidates for tutor positions are thoroughly trained in English Bridge’s course syllabi and instructional methodologies.

They spend 70 hours watching presentations, participating in stand-up comedies, and displaying their abilities by “lecturing” us on various topics . In the end, it’s whether or not they can make us laugh while teaching test prep’s core concepts that distinguishes the good instructors from the best instructors.

After they’re hired, our instructors undergo 118 more hours of extensive training — including 76 hours of lesson prep and 40 hours of personal mentoring by another veteran instructor. But it doesn’t stop there! All new instructors undergo 6 hours of evaluation and feedback to ensure they’re teaching the class up to our sky-high standards.

Sure, our training process is rigorous and borderline excessive. But that’s what it takes to have the best instructors in the biz — and having the the best instructors in the biz is what it takes to have our amazing average practice exam score increase: 11 points.

Finally, we pay the instructors as much as triple the standard pay in the industry. So if any other company has a great teacher, we just hire them away.
